It was easy to go wrong, as was the case with Marvel’s Avengers Game. Because if it is true that the Guardians of the Galaxy are the funniest thing in the Marvel universe (at least as we know it so far), videogame transpositions have often turned out to be a nightmare (if we exclude Spiderman for PS5). Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (for Xbox, Playstation and PC) is not what you expect. It is a spectacular third person shooter, fun and compelling in gameplay. The most maladjusted band of misfits in Space is a real family and should be treated as such even in combat. It will be the soundtrack peppered with 80s hits, but the game is finally a pleasant surprise.
Where were we
It has been 12 years since the Galactic War, unleashed by the monstrous Chitauri against all civilized species of the universe, shook the cosmos to its foundations. The game tells a completely original story, which will also take shape in the base
to your decisions. The faces, as we know, are not the ones we met in the cinema. Not everything is ok: Star-Lord works, Gamora is too bad. But you get used to it soon. Also because the spirit is that of the Marvel films.
What we liked
The game is long-lived, the main campaign lasts 20 hours, and they go by pleasantly. Good rhythm, funny dialogues and even the dubbing is finally up to par. You are asked to make choices that affect the plot. The further you go, the more you feel part of a dysfunctional family. Cooperation between characters is an important piece of gameplay. Which is great. Then the spaceship Milano is the new Millenium Falcon.
What we didn’t like
A little bit on a technical level doesn’t always work. On Ps5 you always expect something more spectacular. An example? At launch, you don’t have ray tracing.
