So the Rector of the University of Salento Fabio Pollice wanted to greet the first “class” of students of the new degree course in Medicine and Surgery, launched this year in the University of Salento: about 60 freshmen selected on a national basis, to which it is the seminar room of the ISUFI college, in the Ecotekne complex, has been reserved for lectures. The Director of the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences and Technologies Ludovico Valli and professors Alessandro Sannino and Pietro Alifano focused on the scientific aspects of the training course, characterized by a “MedTec” connotation that combines medical knowledge and bio-engineering knowledge, and by a “operational” orientation which foresees the carrying out of internships already in the second year of the course. The Vice Rector Maria Antonietta Aiello and the Director of ISUFI Domenico Fazio also took part.
“We are all here, excited, to greet a historic moment for our University and for Salento”, underlined the Rector Pollice, “After twenty years a degree course is being launched in which you students are and will be the absolute protagonists . Difficulties and uncertainties may arise, but know that you will always find us at your side to help you build your future and the future of medicine in this area and wherever you go to operate, in Italy and abroad “.
