From next autumn the admission tests to the Faculty of Medicine will change. The tests will have fewer questions of logic and general culture in favor of the questions of biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics. Other news will arrive from 2023/24 when the “Tolc” of the Cisia are expected, which can be held since the penultimate year of high school and twice in the same year.
The minister of the University Cristina Messa wanted it with the decree n. 583 of June 24, 2022.
Medicine test, how will the quizzes be
The tests will take place in the first half of September. Candidates will have to answer 60 questions multiple choice in 100 minutes. The test questions will be 60 but in the weight distribution there will be more space and attention to disciplinary subjects and less to logic and general culture. 15 percent of the test will consist of logical reasoning, numerical reasoning and humanities quizzes. The rest of the questions will be related to the disciplinary subjects (biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics).
Students will have one hundred minutes for the test, which will contain:
- 4 questions on reading skills and knowledge acquired in studies;
- 5 questions of logical reasoning and problems;
- 23 biology questions;
- 15 of chemistry;
- 13 of physics and mathematics.
Last year they had been 12 in general culture, 10 in logical reasoning, 18 in biology, 12 in chemistry and 8 in physics and mathematics.
For the veterinary medicine courses, however, the number of questions is the same with the difference that 19 biology and 19 chemistry questions will be provided.
New tests, for which courses they will be worth
The new procedures for carrying out the entrance exam for Medicine will apply to the following courses:
- medicine and Surgery;
- dentistry and dental prostheses;
- veterinary Medicine;
- health care professions.
Medicine test, dates
The decree confirms the dates of the selections that will take place:
- Tuesday 6 September medicine and dentistry in Italian;
- Thursday 8 September veterinary;
- Tuesday 13 September medicine and dentistry in English;
- Thursday 15 September health professions.
Medicine test, scoring
The rules for scoring do not change. A maximum of 90 points can be reached, taking into account the following criteria:
- 1.5 points for each correct answer;
- minus 0.4 points for each wrong answer;
- 0 points for each omitted answer.
