Mayor of Arese, Michela Palestra, mechanical engineer, 49 years old, maintains the delegations to the Environment and the presidency of the South Milan Agricultural Park, to which is added by today also the delegation to Territorial Planning. With its own decree, the smetropolitan indigo also called elections for the renewal of the metropolitan council for Sunday December 19, 2021. The Metropolitan Council is made up of 24 members elected by limited suffrage by the mayors and municipal councilors of the municipalities of the metropolitan city, with weighted vote.

Today the Metropolitan Council also approved the subrogation of the new metropolitan councilors following the elections held on 3 October last. In particular ad Arianna Censi, elected with the list C + Milano Metropolitana, takes over Daniele Mandrini, municipal councilor of the Municipality of Cernusco sul Naviglio. Ad Alessandro Braga, elected with the civic list La Città dei Comuni, takes over Antonio Malfettone, councilor for culture, youth events and policies of the Municipality of Pantigliate. The seat of Marco Carrettoni, of the Five Star Movement list, remains vacant due to lack of substitutes.
