Microsoft just announced the purchase of ZeniMax Media, a holding company with multiple game studios. This has been transferred to Microsoft’s studios and game brands, including Bethesda Game Studios’ Fallout, Elder Scrolls, id Software’s Doom, and Thor Quake, Arkane Studios’ Dishonored, MachineGames’ Wolfstein, Tango Gameworks’ The Evil Within, and many other well-known game series.
Microsoft paid a total of 7.5 billion US dollars in cash for this, and the transaction is expected to be completed in the second half of next year. In a short time, this means that more Bethesda games will come to the console and PC Xbox Game Pass, which will definitely help increase the appeal of Game Pass (and Xbox). For a long time, Microsoft will have more platform exclusive options, or at least it can prevent these games from becoming exclusive to other platforms.
