Milan, Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta smartwatch

by admin

Meta Platforms Inc., formerly known as Facebook Inc., is developing one smartwatch with front camera (for video conferencing) and rounded screen.

The image was found (literally) by the developer Steve Moser within the app of its Ray-Ban Stories Ar, the augmented reality sunglasses to which Meta itself provided the management software. This figure would reveal the close connection between the Meta smartwatch and augmented reality glasses, which in the future could also be used to control the watch. Zuckerberg’s smartwatch will have a notch, inside which a video camera will be hidden: the real novelty.

The discovery of the image was published in an article on the US site Bloomberg News, but on the news the spokespersons of the social media giant have distanced themselves with a resounding “no comment”.

Milan, the Meta smartwatch of the former Facebook family
The photo posted on Boomberg News shows a watch with a slightly curved screen and case at the edges. In the notch, a front camera, similar to that of a smartphone, appears at the bottom of the display with a control button for the clock on the right side. In addition to having rounded corners and a camera, the smartwatch appears to have a stainless steel case and detachable straps. Steve Moser also states that the code within the app indicates that the watch could be called Milan and that could allow the photos and videos taken with the wearable to be downloaded to a phone.

Ready for 3 generations of watches
According to Bloomberg, Meta plans to unveil the smartwatch as early as 2022. Also, Facebook’s parent company is reportedly already working on 3 generations of watches which will be released at 3 different times. Recall that The Verge he has reported earlier this year that Facebook was working on a smartwatch with a 1080p front and rear camera with autofocus. Could also have a heart rate monitor and Lte connectivity, although these features could be distributed among the 3 different models.

Apple’s smartwatch doesn’t have a camera, much less other products from companies like Samsung and others. A move to smartwatches the rivalry between Meta and Apple would increase, who fought over app store policies and iPhone OS privacy changes. Apple is also planning to unveil its first mixed reality headset as early as next year, which would compete with the next high-end Meta headset.

Facebook will create 10,000 jobs in Europe to bring its metaverse to life

Social media giant’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg at Facebook’s augmented and virtual reality conference Thursday said the company has changed the name to Meta to reflect its virtual reality, to realize the vision of the future that Zuckerberg calls the metaverse. He also said that the new name was inspired by the Greek word meta, which means “beyond”, adding that “for me it symbolizes that there is always more to build”. Once again, the genius of social media would seem not to be proven wrong,
