More power for photos and games: the promises of the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip

by admin

American Qualcomm has unveiled its new chip dedicated to high-end smartphones: it’s called Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, it is obviously intended for Android phones and should allow better photo processing and graphics management capabilities.

The Californian company (the headquarters are in San Diego) remains the largest smartphone chip supplier in the world, despite competition from rivals such as MediaTek and Samsung, which nonetheless use Qualcomm processors in some of its products. As explained by the Vice President Alex Katouzian to Reuters news agency, the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 should allow better shots with the smartphone camera and also better handle the more graphically demanding games. Katouzian added that the company has developed software that will allow manufacturers to have more control over the chip, allowing them to take full advantage of it: “The differences will be seen above all in the benchmarks and in the user experience”.
