National Registry, via a “data correction”: corrections are now being requested online

by admin

Have you discovered that there are errors in your personal data sheet? There is a lot to put your hands in your hair. But from tomorrow the procedure to correct them is streamlined. And a lot. At the moment, if a citizen finds errors or inconsistencies in his personal data (name and surname, date and place of birth, marital status and residence) he must report them to his Municipality of residence by going there in person. In case of errors due to oversights or carelessness such as grammatical errors, the officer of the civil status will correct them directly. Otherwise, in case of errors of different nature – as stated in the Decree of the President of the Republic 03/11/2000, n. 396, art. 95 and 98 – it is necessary to appeal to the judicial authority competent for the territory. And here the times inevitably get longer.

Ask for corrections from the web
From tomorrow we change and the corrections will follow a much less tortuous path. On the portal of the National Resident Population Registry (ANPR), the new “Data correction” service will appear, which will allow citizens, registered in the ANPR, to view their personal data sheet. Thus, in the presence of any errors or inconsistencies in the personal data or discrepancies with the data in the documents in possession, you can ask the municipality of residence to correct them, without going to the municipal offices.

How does it work
Starting from tomorrow 24 June, the rectification request service will be progressively enabled to all the municipalities present in the ANPR, with a view to a gradual digitalization of the services of the Public Administration. In the specific reserved area of the ANPR website, citizens in possession of an Electronic Identity Card (CIE), National Service Card (CNS) or SPID, may request the correction of one or more inaccurate data on their personal data sheet – reporting the “clerical errors” or communicating any integrations of incomplete data. Not only that, citizens with these requirements will also be able to monitor the processing status of the request made and authorize the receipt of notifications on its progress.

The management of the report
If the “Request for rectification” function is already active for the municipality of residence, the “Data rectification” item will be present among the functions available on the ANPR Portal, in the section dedicated to citizens. The data for which it is possible to request the correction are easily identifiable thanks to the appropriate pencil “Modification” and, if necessary, it will be possible to attach any supporting documentation to support the request. The documentation will be kept by the ANPR system only until the request is fully processed and subsequently by the Municipality. Municipalities will be able to manage and monitor the requests received from citizens, making, in case of acceptance, the corrections in the ANPR database through their management system or through the ANPR web app, whose functions allow the registry officers to directly process the requests. to rectify or reject inadmissible applications.

What is ANPR
The portal of the National Resident Population Registry (ANPR) of the Ministry of the Interior collects information from the almost 8,000 municipal registries present in our territory. ANPR is an integrated, effective system with high safety standards, which allows municipalities to interact with other public administrations. Allowing the data to communicate, avoiding duplication of documents, ensuring greater certainty of the personal data and protecting the personal data of citizens. It is a project of the Ministry of the Interior whose realization is entrusted to Sogei, technological partner of the economic-financial administration, which also oversaw the development of the new portal. The Department for digital transformation of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers is responsible for the technical-operational coordination of the initiative. To date, ANPR collects data from 98% of the Italian population with 7,598 municipalities already taking over and 72 municipalities in the pre-takeover phase. The National Registry, which includes the Registry of Italians residing abroad (AIRE) equal to 5 million and 500 thousand people, involves over 59 million residents in Italy and will be completed in 2021. On the portal it is possible to monitor the progress of the accession process by the Italian municipalities.
