Net drop in admissions to pediatric hospitals, -30% – Medicine

(ANSA) – ROME, FEBRUARY 22 – In the last seven days, for the first time in weeks, there has been a sharp decline in the admissions for Covid of children and young people from zero to 18 years in Italian pediatric hospitals, equal to minus 30% . In the week until February 21, 122 were hospitalized compared to 172 last week, of which 119 in the medical area and 3 in intensive care. Of these, 73 are children from zero to four and 49 from 5 to 18. In the age group between 5 and 18 years, 69% are unvaccinated. The data are provided by the Association of Italian Pediatric Hospitals (Aopi).
