by admin

October pink month of breast cancer prevention. It is the month dedicated to raising awareness among the female population on the fight and prevention of what is one of the noises that affects women most. Born about thirty years ago in America, the Pink Ribbon campaign has spread over the years to the rest of the world, now involving 70 countries, including Italy.

The World Cancer Research Fund has drawn up the 10 key health recommendations and the cancer prevention.

The 10 recommendations:

  1. Keeping yourself normal weight, with particular attention to the waist circumference. It is important to maintain an adequate weight from an early age, in fact those who are overweight during childhood increase the probability of becoming an obese adult and being more prone to the development of tumors.
  2. Have an active lifestyle. Being active every day, walking more and fighting a sedentary lifestyle reduces the risk of overweight and obesity.
  3. Limit your consumption of red meat and processed meats, prefer white meats, white fish and eggs and vary their consumption during the week.
  4. Increase the consumption of whole grains, plant foods and legumes : consume at least 5 portions a day of fruit and vegetables and insert at least 2/3 portions of legumes weekly in place of other protein sources. Dietary fiber promotes intestinal motility, reducing the residence time of potential carcinogens.heart-healthy-food-1580231690
