The truth is we all wish we could do more, but what? The head of the World Energy Agency gave us an idea: it would be enough to lower our radiators by one degree to reduce imports of Russian gas (and in the summer do the opposite with air conditioning). One degree, only one degree. Nobody would die of cold. We are not camped on the Ukrainian border in a tent. Consuming less energy, not wasting it, while waiting for the era of renewables to really begin, should be imperative to save the planet, and now it is also imperative to save us from Russian dependence. One degree less? Will we be capable of it? One thinks: of course. Official answer: the mayors are thinking about it. We would all like to do more to show our participation to those who suffer, but in the meantime we are thinking about it.
