One degree less for Ukraine and for us

I can not think of anything else. To the war in Ukraine. On Twitter I put the alert on the messages of Zelensky and two newspapers in Kiev. But I am speechless in front of the videos somehow posted by Russian users where young protesters are seen being arrested singing the Ukrainian anthem in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Or Beautiful Hello in Ukrainian. Saying no to war in those squares is different from us. I replied one and a Russian user, who in his bio says he is a librarian, thanked me and said: could you also make a donation to this association that covers the legal costs of those arrested? You do what you can to help. Several friends have booked apartments in Kiev next week not to go there, of course, but to donate money directly to families.

Why Ukraine is asking for help from Apple and Google

The truth is we all wish we could do more, but what? The head of the World Energy Agency gave us an idea: it would be enough to lower our radiators by one degree to reduce imports of Russian gas (and in the summer do the opposite with air conditioning). One degree, only one degree. Nobody would die of cold. We are not camped on the Ukrainian border in a tent. Consuming less energy, not wasting it, while waiting for the era of renewables to really begin, should be imperative to save the planet, and now it is also imperative to save us from Russian dependence. One degree less? Will we be capable of it? One thinks: of course. Official answer: the mayors are thinking about it. We would all like to do more to show our participation to those who suffer, but in the meantime we are thinking about it.
