Professor Francesco Dentali, director of the internal medicine department of the Circolo di Varese hospital, told about the situation in his hospital in this first summer month after a busy spring on the Coronavirus front. To date, only two types of patients are hospitalized in the Covid ward – which is still active -: long-term inpatients, stopped in hospital for complications of another nature and who contract it in a mild form thanks to the vaccine, and those who Covid-19 in a more serious form because it is not vaccinated. “We think about treating them – said Dentali – but they understand by themselves that they have made a mistake and regret not having vaccinated. At that point they are already very sad of the mistake: they understand that the vaccination campaign is a serious matter, “he added. «Vaccination is for the whole community. Even though I feel invincible, I have a number of people around me who will be less so. The fact that there is little awareness makes us angry and sorry. We were addicted to almost a thousand deaths a day, but now we are just a few dozen. And this is only thanks to the vaccination campaign ».
