Pakistani loses his head, injures some nurses and causes damage in the ward

Eventful night, the one between Tuesday and yesterday, at the city emergency room. And not for the constant coming and going of people waiting to be visited or hospitalized for an emergency, with the medical and nursing staff forced to run from one part of the hospital to the other. To further animate the night, already heavy in itself as always in the emergency room, was thought by a citizen of Pakistani origin who literally lost the light of reason, generating chaos and panic and putting all the operators in difficulty. Until he was finally put in a position to do no harm. And, from what we learned, it was not the first case because during the day other people had gone into a rage in the ward that welcomes patients with various pathologies and need for treatment. And that for years has had to deal with a lack of staff and an emergency, that linked to Covid, which in fact still requires restrictive procedures regarding the entry of relatives or carers.

THE FURY

The stranger arrived in the emergency room already altered and in a short time he lost his temper, starting to shout and invade the operators, to throw to the ground what he found along his way, and to push anyone who tried to stop him. In fact, some nurses reported some minor injuries. A complicated and difficult situation to manage, with the people in the waiting room who had to be visited and this thug who actually blocked the activity of the department, since it was feared it could become even more dangerous. And it was in fact a fury, impossible to stop so much that it was necessary to ask for the intervention of the agents of the Flying Squad who immediately arrived on the spot and managed to block the stranger who was then sedated.

THE SECURITY

Working in a department like the emergency room, a link between visits, emergencies and hospitalizations, is not only difficult, heavy and tiring. But also dangerous. “Fortunately we can count on the intervention of the police who always respond quickly to our requests for help”, underlined by the department. Furthermore, everything that can become a weapon is placed in inaccessible places, so as to make the arrival of a thug like the one the other night less dangerous.
