Pnrr, doctors in Speranza: “Let’s do the reform together”

by admin

The National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) provides for reforms and investments for over 222 billion euros. Which, of course, also affect healthcare. But according to the Alliance for the Medical Profession (APM), the cross-union group representing more than 100,000 doctors, the Recovery today is completely devoid of references to health professionals. Professionals who launch an appeal, because “Without doctors there is no health care”. And that yesterday, during the “PNRR: what doctors think” event, they met the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza and numerous politicians to be able to work together on the reform.

Seven are the 7 acronyms that are part of APM – ANDI, CIMOP, CIMO-FESMED Federation, FIMMG, FIMP, SBV and SUMAI – and who have presented a manifesto, in which they ask to:

– promote and defend the indispensable decision-making autonomy of the doctor, which must also be substantiated in the possibility of concretely participating in the governance of the organizational context in which he exercises his professional activity;

– promote a different professional and career progression during the working life that enhances the professional sphere, also through a periodic assessment / certification of individual professional skills in a merit-based logic;

– claim a correct planning of training activities, both as regards the times and methods of access to the degree course, university specialties and the training course in general medicine, and as regards contents and places of specialized training, preparatory for the subsequent entry into the world of work by eliminating the training funnel once and for all;

– recover the autonomy and centrality of one’s role within the NHS;

– safeguard the free medical and dental profession from the increasingly looming bureaucratic and fiscal pressure;

– propose organizational and governance models that are able to combine the objectives of the PNRR with the real needs of professionals and citizens;

– allow the free choice of the doctor and dentist treating by the citizen both in general medicine, both in the affiliated and accredited outpatient specialist, and in free choice pediatrics, enhancing teamwork and also preventing the continuation of the conditioning exercised by the integrative health networks.

– balance the relationship between profession and capital in health care.

“Satisfaction with the participation of the politicians who listened to us and declared themselves willing to accept our proposals regarding the PNRR, without which not only the Community Houses and Community Hospitals risk being empty boxes but also the Service national health care risks no longer being such, not being able to carry out its role of protecting the health of citizens “, supports the Alliance for the Medical Profession:” All this in a historical moment in which, also due to Covid, the hump pension is about to reach its peak and the bureaucratic burden is more and more preponderant, to the detriment of the time to devote to the doctor-patient relationship ”.
