Pokémon Go, on a mission for World Earth Day

by admin

To celebrate World Earth Day, April 22, Niantic promotes through its popular Pokèmon GO an event dedicated to sustainability. From now until April 25, it is possible to earn bonuses in the game by engaging in some actions even in the real world.

The goal in Pokémon GO is to capture Trubbish, Grimer, and other critters that pollute the environment. The virtual cleaning, a symbolic gesture made in the video game, is accompanied by the challenge in the real world with an urban game that allows participants to unlock three levels of game rewards by carrying out the following tasks: taking care of the community, adopting a new practice for the sustainability, contributing to a local cause.

After carrying out virtuous practices, the action must be documented with an image posted on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. The post must contain a photo and description of the action, accompanied by the hashtag #SustainableWithNiantic and the tag @NianticLabs.
