Pope John XXIII is among the best 250 hospitals in the world

The renowned Pope John XXIII Hospital in Bergamo has once again secured its position among the top 250 hospitals in the world, according to a recent ranking by the American magazine Newsweek in collaboration with leading data processor Statista. The hospital was one of 2,400 facilities from 30 countries that were evaluated for this prestigious ranking.

In Italy, Pope John XXIII Hospital placed ninth among both public and private hospitals and third among public hospitals in the Lombardy region. The hospital’s high ranking was attributed to several key indicators, including the opinion of medical experts and the world of hospital healthcare, patient satisfaction surveys, adherence to international quality standards, patient safety measures, hygiene, treatment quality, and structured investigations for patients.

Notably, Pope John XXIII Hospital is the only hospital in Italy to exceed the minimum evaluation threshold for a specific indicator that focuses on verifying the effectiveness of treatments based on patients’ perceptions of improved quality of life. Francesco Locati, General Director of the ASST Pope John XXIII, expressed pride in the hospital’s continued recognition on the international stage.

In addition to the hospital’s top ranking, the management of ASST Pope John XXIII received another accolade for its expertise in healthcare management. They have been chosen to lead a national group by the Italian Federation of Health and Hospital Companies (Fiaso). This group will focus on identifying strategies and best practices related to the concept of “value” in healthcare, with the goal of assessing public health spending in terms of actual benefits to patients.

Overall, the continued success and recognition of Pope John XXIII Hospital reflect its commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services and its dedication to improving patient outcomes.
