The prostate gland, whose function is to produce seminal fluid, can be subject to a series of more or less serious and annoying diseases. The most common ones can be classified into three broad groups: prostatic infections; benign prostatic hypertrophy and prostate tumors. There are several signs to watch for to diagnose inflammation: frequent urination also accompanied by pain.
Male health, if not checked, sexuality is at risk

Another common pathology is benign prostatic hypertrophy: a slow and constant enlargement of the prostate that presses on the urethra. A very common pathology influenced by age, hormonal factors and lifestyles. For this reason, it is essential from the age of 50 to undergo a urological check-up even in the absence of disorders.
An enlarged prostate gland does not necessarily indicate the presence of a tumor. Prostate cancer grows slowly, often without spreading outside the gland, but there are more aggressive forms. In most cases, the diagnosis relies on screening tests: it is advisable to undergo checks by the urologist. Exams include: exploration; PSA (Specific Prostate Antigen) examination and a biopsy.
