Sony announced today (26) that the PS5’s variable refresh rate (VRR) feature will be installed in a few days around the world through version updates starting this week, and HDMI 2.1 compatible TVs and monitors can be used. .

Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) is an HDMI 2.1 picture support function that enables TVs and monitors to adjust the update rate according to the frame rate of the output device, including eliminating delays and screen tearing, resulting in smoother images and game fluency.

VRR also advertises that it can reduce the experience difference between computer games and home consoles.

In line with this system update schedule, Sony also announced the first wave of game software that is expected to support VRR.

Once again, VRR is only compatible with TVs and monitors that are compatible with HDMI 2.1, and those who are incompatible cannot. Of course, you also need a PS5.
