To deal with structural problems, first of all, the relationship between public health and general medicine, between hospital and territory, investments in human capital and the digitalization processes of the system require different rules. To face the extraordinary phase that we have before us, ordinary schemes are not enough: the hope is that the interest of part is mediated by the general one, a responsibility which involves the whole country“. This is what was expressed by the deputy governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia with responsibility for Health Riccardo Riccardi on the occasion of the 19th regional conference of the Federation of associations of internist hospital managers (Fadoi) and of the National Association of Medical Nurses (Animo) which was held in Udine.

If on one hand the emergency from Covid-19 it revealed problems already present, on the other – according to the Deputy Governor – today an assumption of responsibility by all stakeholders is necessary and desirable“.
A warning then came from the regional leaders. “If you imagine that every part of the system faces this new phase with the same settings as always then everyone will continue to wade the interest of his part by not contextualizing it in the overall picture of the general interest“.

The balance between the different interests that come into play in a pandemic context was one of the greatest difficulties, where the focus is the resilience of the health system and on the other, the pressure dictated by people’s living conditions and its effects on the social system as well as the economic dynamics.

The deputy governor then expressed gratitude towards those who have engaged in this unprecedented experience, underlining how the pandemic “with 70% of adhesions of the vaccine audience it is not yet concluded” and how “the stability of the hospital system is inversely proportional to the vaccination campaign“.

And give

The Fvgha Region then recalled the million and 600 thousand vaccines administered from January to today and the growth of surveillance activity, which at the beginning of the pandemic had a capacity of 200 tampons a day while today it has significantly increased and is in the tens of thousands. In the speeches of the president and the regional vice president of Fadoi, the role and the work overload of professionals and internal medicine structures in the pandemic emergency. Representatives of hospital managers highlighted the need for a global care of the patient; in this phase their contribution becomes even more important because chronic conditions are developing, underlining the contribution that internists they can lead to the organization of health systems to achieve integration between hospital and territory that Covid has highlighted to be one of the main problems in the organization of health.
