Researchers study the potential benefits of samba for Parkinson’s

A special course for Parkinson’s patients in the UK is proving so effective that neurogenerative disease researchers are planning a study to see if samba can actually help relieve symptoms. The class of pupils portrayed in the video is located in the Welsh capital, Cardiff. The age of this class varies, as do the symptoms of the patients, but most already show outward signs of the disease. Over the past year, patients here have reported improvements in their mood and movements. The course was started by Eirwen Malin after her son went to a samba concert. The class is receiving government funding which has given the green light for many more classes to be set up across Wales. Members say they feel better taking the course.
