The numbers are impressive: 5 million Italians live every day with one of the 150 known rheumatic diseases. Often painful and disabling conditions, aggravated by a difficulty in diagnosis which in not rare cases comes after years, to the point that 40% of patients are forced to leave work. A situation that is no longer sustainable, according to the experts of the Italian Society of Rheumatology (Sir) gathered at a congress in Rimini, because today there are therapies that, administered in the right timing, are able to slow down or even stop or prevent permanent damage.
