Rumor: Rockstar Skips GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption Remake –

Rockstar released Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition series last year, which includes all GTA games from the PlayStation 2 era, and has brought Grand Theft Auto V to three different generations since its original launch on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on the platform.

In short, the famous developer isn’t afraid to milk the cow, which has led to rumors of further remakes over the years. This is especially true for Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto IV, where many would love to see new releases, and apparently there have been internal discussions about this. Rockstar Insider Tez2 wrote on Twitter:

“According to Rockstar’s plan to have reliable sources with unequivocal accuracy, remakes of GTA IV and RDR1 were already on the table a few years ago, but Rockstar chose not to pursue these projects”

Both Grand Theft Auto IV and Red Dead Redemption are excellent games, but the former in particular looks a bit old, and Red Dead Redemption, despite its popularity, never made it to PC. A reasonable guess is that the poor response to Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy-Limited Edition prevented Rockstar from trying again.
