The cases of monkeypox ascertained by the Policlinico di Bari rise to three. Another case, as reported by Ansa, was diagnosed by the infectious diseases clinic on a 37-year-old from Bari. The man, having returned from a trip abroad, presented evident skin manifestations.
A second case had instead been confirmed in recent days in the Dermatology department after the investigations carried out by the molecular epidemiology laboratory: it is a 25-year-old man.
In both cases they are imported infections, that is, occurred abroad. The two patients are in home isolation, while as usual the cases have been reported to the hygiene and public health service of the Bari ASL Prevention Department to start tracing the contacts.
