by admin

Samsung and Apple confirm themselves as queens of the European smartphone market while Huawei is disappearing and emerging brands – albeit consolidated abroad – such as Oppo and Realme are taking off with growth rates in some cases in the three figures.

Counterpoint’s report on sales trends in the first three months of the year therefore certifies the dominance of the usual Samsung and Apple, which together make up 60% of the market. The growth was more marked for Apple, from 22% in sales in the first quarter of 2020 to 28% in 2021, thanks above all to the performance of the iPhone 12, while that of the South Korean giant is equal to 13%: from 30 to 32. %.

The rest of the ranking is all Chinese, with Xiaomi occupying the third step of the podium (the most impressive growth among the top three with a + 73% which sees it go from 11 to 18%) and then to follow the houses that make headed in various ways by the Bkk conglomerate: Oppo, Oneplus and Realme which recorded growth of 94%, 85% and 183% respectively. In the middle, fifth behind Oppo, Huawei which recorded a 75% decline from 15% of the market share in the first quarter of 2020 to 4% in the same period of 2021. All three houses of the Bkk group have recently launched flagship models such as the Find X3 Pro from Oppo, the 9 Pro from OnePlus and the 8 Pro from realme, but they also acted on the mid-market range with the three models of the A series all 5G (A94, A74 and A54) with a price between 370 and 260 euros.
