These are just some of the global changes in land use, unsustainable from an environmental point of view, which in recent years have been disrupting the planet. Such changes, if they occur in a geographical area in which the habitat of a particular bat also exists, create dangerous “hotspots”, hot spots where favorable conditions develop for the transmission of coronaviruses from wild animals to humans.
