A badge to distinguish who is vaccinated from who is not, a sort of Green Pass dell’amore, to be used on the most popular dating apps to communicate to the person you would like to meet that you are protected from the coronavirus: the initiative is by Match Group, the American giant that controls (among others) Tinder, OkCupid and Meetic, who announced it by also telling of a agreement drawn up with the UK government for the promotion of vaccinations.
Subscribers can then add to the profile an icon confirming that vaccination has been completed and even those who are vaccinated will have some functions that are usually paid for free, such as Super Like and similar.

The effect of vaccines on dating apps
It happens because, as we have written already at the beginning of 2021, on these apps it seems to be very effective to declare oneself vaccinated: on Tinder, the best known and most used, between the end of last year and the beginning of this year, only in the United Kingdom is the number of people who added “vaccination done” increased by 258% to their description. Again: on OKCupid, the conversations about vaccines are grew by 137% between November 2020 and January 2021, as well as on Hinge; in a survey of over 45,000 OKCupid users, nearly 70% said they were ready to be vaccinated.
After all, the purpose of these apps is to meet people who do not know each other between them and evidently knowing that one of the two (or even both) is vaccinated soothing and can direct the choice towards one profile rather than another.
