health services research
From 2024, the BMG will fund care-related research on Long COVID. EUR 21 million will be made available for this. The funding focuses on model projects in which innovative forms of care for the treatment of long-COVID-affected people are developed and tested. In addition, further research projects on Long COVID are funded via the innovation fund at the G-BA. A further 20 million euros are available for this.
In autumn 2023, Federal Health Minister Prof. Karl Lauterbach wants to invite representatives of the various groups affected by the topic to a round table. The participants should be given the opportunity to exchange ideas about how to deal with Long COVID.
