Startup: Spiiky and the other new entries in the Italian Tech database

Playwood, Spiiky, Myvisto, Deed, Martha’s Cottage, Docety, Stirapp and EatsReady are the 8 new startups that have entered the Startup Database of Italian Tech which debuted on 23 September last (here the explanation of the reasons and objectives). Here is more in detail who they are and how they grow.

Playwood is a startup that has developed modular furniture based on a connector system. Founded in 2015 in Reggio Emilia by Stefano Guerrieri, Carlotta Nizzoli and Mirco Bonilauri, in 2019 it closed a round of 450 thousand euros participated by Primo Ventures, LVenture Group and some members of Angel Partner Group – APG.

Spiiky is a Modenese startup founded in 2014 by Mattia Venturelli, Simone Barbolini, Marcello Maletti and Matteo Manelli who developed a platform dedicated to commercial offers (Mobile Couponing). In 2019 he closed a round of 470 thousand euros with A11 Venture. In November 2021 it was acquired (51%) by Amilon, a company of the Zucchetti Group.

Myvisto is a video content platform which aims to connect companies to videomakers, founded in Turin by the actor Luca Argentero and Paolo Tenna in 2016. In 2019 it raised 500 thousand euros in a round of financing signed by the Investors Club.

Deed is a startup that has developed a bracelet which allows you to control the devices through an interface, capable of capturing the user’s gestures to interpret their will. Founded in 2016 by Edoardo Parini and Emiliano Parini and raised at I3P – Incubatore del Politecnico di Torino, in 2019 it raised 500 thousand euros in a round signed by a club deal of private investors and angels, specialized in investments in startups and companies operating in the sector IT and new technologies.

Martha’s Cottage is a startup that has developed an ecommerce dedicated to wedding products. Founded by Salvatore Cobuzio in 2013 in Syracuse, the company closed a capital increase of 520 thousand euros in 2019 thanks to an equity crowdfunding campaign and the subsequent contribution of other private investors. In less than 3 months, 430 thousand euros were raised on Mamacrowd.

Docety is a startup that has developed an e-learning platform. Founded by Mario Palladino, Nicola Palmieri and Michele Forlante in 2018, in 2019 the company raised 540 thousand euros in a round attended by Startupitalia, Nana Bianca and an equity crowdfunding campaign on Mamacrowd.

Stirapp is a startup that has developed a platform for the washing service and ironing of clothes through online reservations with collection and home delivery. Founded in Modena in 2017 by Luciano Serra, Paolo Gavazza and Pierantonio Guiglia, in 2019 the company closed a round of 540 thousand euros led by Servizi Italia, operator of rental, washing and sterilization of textile and surgical materials for hospitals.

EatsReady is a startup founded in 2017 in Milan by Micaela Illy, Olivia Burgio and Luciano de Franco. It has developed an app that issues meal vouchers and allows you to order online from restaurants, pay in advance and pick up in the fast lane. In 2019 it closed a € 650,000 round attended by 4 investors, including the B2B innovation platform Gellify.
