Sugar tax, because it is important for our health

It was renamed the health tax. But Italians will still have to wait: the sugar tax that increases taxes on sweetened drinks that contain more than 25 grams of sugar per liter, has been postponed to 2023 with the applause of the sector categories, but not of doctors.

The sugar tax is a corrective tax included in the 2019 economic maneuver and approved in the 2020 budget law but not yet entered into force: when it is, sweetened drinks will cost 10 cents more per liter, 25 cents per kilo in the case of products to be diluted.
