Motorola is back. Turnover in Italy almost doubled with superior results in terms of sales to other European countries. As explained in an online meeting Carlo Barlocco, general manager for Europe, the smartphone brand now owned by Lenovo’s Chinese wants to go back to being what it was in the past. And the strategy seems to attack the market in the lower range of 5G, the most interesting one to increase sales volumes. So here are two new smartphones, the Motorola G100 and the G50, respectively 599 euros the first and 279 euros both for new generation networks. The more interesting of the two is certainly the G50, one of the cheapest on the market. But let’s see them better.
How they are made
The Motorola G100 will have a 6.7-inch display that offers Full HD + resolution. Two little eyes that house the 8MP and 16MP sensors. While behind we have the four cameras: the main 64MP, 16MP and dual 2MP sensor for macro and depth of shots. The brain is a Snapdragon 870 chip flanked by 12GB of RAM and 256GB for internal storage, expandable via microSD up to 1TB. The strong point of the Motorola G family is its autonomy, which would guarantee over two days of charge. Same battery (5000 mAh) for the G50 but less powerful chip (Snapdragon 480), smaller 6.5-inch screen and smaller photographic compartment. Recall that we are talking about a low cost smartphone that is now competitive with products of the same class as Xiaomi and Samsung.

The novelty is called Ready for, the desktop version
Also arrives in Italy Ready For, a desktop mode like Samsung DeX that relies on a USB-C to HDMI cable to connect the smartphone to the TV or a larger screen. The operation is simple (the writer has the smartphone on test), the device automatically transmits a work environment and turns into a sort of touch remote control or an additional screen. Convenient for broadcasting videos, watching a TV series on a non-smart TV, playing games or managing a video call.
First impressions.
It is not a camerphone, in the sense that although the photographic sector has improved it is not a device that makes imaging its strong point. However, it is a smartphone with personality, refined in design and elegant even without being precious. If he plays it with more pumped smartphones with the same technical specifications but has the advantage of having perhaps clearer than others that the smartphone today is an object where utility of use prevails. Hence perhaps the choice of abandoning too many eccentric colors to focus on a beautiful gray (Steel Gray) and blue (Aqua Green) for the G50. For the G100 still blue (Iridescent Sky, Iridescent Ocean) and a brighter gray (Slate Gray).
