SUSA – Medicine dell’AslTo3 is strengthened with the appointment of two directors of a complex structure: Giovanni Pivano in Rivoli and Attilio La Brocca in Susa, both of whom formally take up service on Friday 1 October. The two complex structures are part of the corporate Department of Medicine directed by Ferdinando Varbella.
These are important steps for a fundamental area of the healthcare offer to the territory, Medicine, which, in particular, during the pandemic organized and managed together with Mecau, Reanimation and all the other medical and nursing specialties of the NHS the response to an extraordinary demand for the health of the population.
Two very different contexts, but both fundamental, of the health services of the ASL: Rivoli, with 275 beds and over 60,000 first aid passages a year, is the Cardine Hospital for the entire western belt of Turin; Susa, border hospital, reference point for the catchment area of the Val Susa Val Sangone district.
Giovanni Pivano, endocrinologist and internist, worked at the medicine of the San Luigi University Hospital in Orbassano, where during the pandemic he was the referent of the low intensity Covid ward. He returns to Rivoli, to lead the department where he worked as a medical manager from 1998 to 2004. From 01.12 2020 to today, Rivoli Medicine has been firmly directed by Cosimo De Domenico, who has shown profound professionalism and work organization skills and of the team, qualities that have been fundamental to steer the hospital out of the acute phase of the pandemic emergency. The heartfelt thanks of the AslTo3 management go to him.
The appointment of Attilio La Brocca is a confirmation of the quality of the work carried out and the commitment made in continuity with the recent past, since La Brocca holds the position of Director of Medicine of Susa as Acting Officer since 15.12.2020, as well as to be currently in charge of the simple emergency room facility at the same hospital. The strong presence of health services in Susa and the continuity and quality of these services is strengthened through the conferral of his post.
