More than a vaccine rush, in the province it seems to be witnessing the tampon rush as a result of the extension of the Green pass to workplaces. Race started in conjunction with the opening of the schools, because currently the typical customer is represented by the teacher or the school operator, even if requests from other professionals are also starting to arrive in the pharmacies.
With agendas, in some cases, saturated until the end of November and seats already occupied in December, so if the course does not reverse due to greater adherence to vaccination, the system could even become flooded.
«It’s a crazy thing – admits Rosalba Carbone, owner of the pharmacy of the same name in via Dante, in Sondrio -, we can’t take it anymore, as the request has intensified a lot. We are practically busy on tampons every day of opening, for an average of one every 15 minutes (except for the spaces we keep available for tampons guaranteed by the National and Regional Health Service), with reservations made mainly by teachers even if they are now arriving requests from workers from other private entities as well. Practically we have full agendas for all of October and all of November and already from now, in December, there are few vacancies left ».
And this is due to the fact that the applicants for the tampon are organizing themselves very well due to the need to show the Green pass to get to work. The swab, as we know, must be carried out in the previous 48 hours and, since the time appears on the Green pass, it is necessary to be precise.
“There are even people who ask us if we can’t open earlier, at 8 instead of 8.30, to swab within the time needed for the Green pass – highlights Chiara Biglioli, owner of the pharmacy of the same name in Morbegno -, which we we absolutely do not do it, also because it does not seem ethical to us to facilitate this type of discourse. Indeed, I hope not to make more tampons in the continuation. I noticed that many clients have changed their minds and have been vaccinated or are about to do it, and I am happy, however, the demand is there, it is considerable, and comes above all from the world of school ».
Still, few have changed their minds among the customers of the “Marcella Vitali” pharmacy in Albosaggia.
«It is a continuous number of requests – underlines the collaborator of the pharmacy -, but we are taking them, for now until the end of the month, otherwise they become difficult to manage and, moreover, it does not even seem ethically right to favor this trend. After that, we carry out the service, of course, and to access it right now are mainly school operators who schedule the three appointments a week “.
Organizing themselves very well even with respect to the rest days of the pharmacies, so they plan the appointments based on the shifts of the open realities in the area, going on one rather than the other as needed.
“The work has changed a lot, in fact, compared to this summer – confirms Mara Pensini, pharmacist at the” Ferri Farmacie “in Tirano -, because until the end of August, we used to swab swabs on weekends, to guarantee checks to those who had to take part in weddings or parties, or had to leave for holidays and, last but not least, the large influx of tourists who, in order to take the Bernina Red Train, and not knowing that they needed the Green pass, arrived at the pharmacy at the last minute , while now we work more at the beginning of the week. We are taking reservations until October 9, then, let’s see ».
