[Reporter Hong Youfang / Hsinchu Report]Synopsys, a global leader in electronic design automation software (EDA), held an APPs design contest (Synopsys APPs Design Contest). As a result, the program developed by the Institute of Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan University took the lead. Won the honor of special prize.
In order to stimulate young students’ interest in design software development and cultivate semiconductor design software talents, Synopsys continues to cooperate with the “University and College Integrated Circuit Computer Aided Design Software Production Contest” (ICCAD Contest) sponsored by the Ministry of Education to organize the “Synopsys Technology APPs Design Contest (Synopsys APPs Design Contest)” to encourage students to combine theory and practice to strengthen exchanges between industry and academia.
This event has been open to applications from various university departments from March this year. After the preliminary screening, six outstanding teams from National Taiwan University, National Tsing Hua University, National Chiao Tung University, Chung Cheng University and Central University entered the finals. Experts and scholars from the industry, academia and research fields formed a committee. The results of the selection were awarded by the National Taiwan University Electrical Engineering Institute. The excellent prizes were respectively won by the National Tsing Hua University Institute of Technology and the National Jiaotong University Electronics. The best advisory professor award was awarded to Huang Zhongyang of the National Taiwan University Electrical Engineering Institute. All awards and bonuses were awarded by Huang Zhongyang of the National Taiwan University Electrical Engineering Institute. Synopsys is exclusively sponsored by Synopsys.
