Tango Gamworks is exploring “new genres” through upcoming works–Gamereactor

by admin

“Evil Invasion 2” was released in 2017, and Tango Gameworks has not released any other works since then. Although this Japanese studio was acquired by Microsoft as part of the Bethesda deal earlier this year, their next game is actually a PC/Playstation 5 reality exclusive, called “Ghost Line: Tokyo”, which is expected to be official in 2022 roll out.

But since the game may have been completed, you can assume that some parts of the team have been transferred to other projects. It turns out that this is a correct assumption, because in the dialogue between Xbox director Phil Spencer and Tango Gameworks founder and industry legend Shinji Mikami, some intelligence was revealed. In fact, the studio has more projects coming soon.

He said, “Evil Invasion 2” director John Johanas is currently developing a new game, and there is currently a third game in development. Although we didn’t get any details from it, it still shows that this is a smaller work, developed by a new director and a young team that will explore “new genres”.

Since Tango Gameworks is a Microsoft-owned developer, these games will definitely be launched on PC and Xbox, and they are likely to be found on Android and iOS through Xbox Game Pass.
