The best drink to reduce bad cholesterol? Here’s what it is

Cholesterol is identified and perceived as one of the values to keep an eye on as regards one’s health, a real evil “of the modern world“, together with other conditions and diseases such as diabetes: both this and cholesterol are also indissolubly associated with nutrition which certainly plays a very important role in the proper functioning of the organism.

What is cholesterol?

Generally we tend to think of cholesterol in a generally negative way, being a sort of “fat” present in the blood, which especially in individuals who follow an unbalanced diet, with many fats can clog the arteries and liver with more or less problematic effects. There are actually two forms of cholesterol, namely LDL and HDL. What is represented by the previous description, that is the “bad” is the LDL, while the “good” one is the HDL which instead helps the removal of the LDL from the body.

An anti-cholesterol drink

It is in general a careless lifestyle to lead to an imbalance between the two parts and therefore to a greater quantity of LDL: even smoking and a too sedentary life are factors that generally affect this significantly.

The opinion of nutritionists and doctors is always fundamental, even if there are foods and even drinks of a “simple” nature that can help keep “bad” cholesterol under control, such as that based on lemon and parsley. The first is a great source of vitamin C as well as has a great antioxidant power, the second “accustoms” the body to react effectively against infections, also strengthening the immune system

A homemade remedy consists of a soft drink that has the main ingredient lemon and parsley.

Parsley helps us to strengthen our immune system for an organism free from diseases and infections. To prepare this drink, you only need 1.5 liter of water, 1 kg of lemons, 3 bunches of parsley and baking soda.

The lemons are first “washed” with baking soda and then cut into slices, then after boiling the water, the lemons are dipped together with the parsley (as soon as the water has cooled), previously chopped. Keep everything in the fridge, taking care to cover the container.

Before each consumption, it will be advisable to mix the drink.
