The certainty of being the best in Italy in the entry tests for medicine he had it since September 24, when the Universitaly website allowed each candidate to see their score: “Mine was exactly what the media announced”.
Like this Lorenzo Monti, from Olgiate Olona, he knew he had scored the highest score in the national entrance test: «It was a great satisfaction» says Lorenzo who thanks above all his teachers at the Arturo Tosi high school in Busto Arsizio: «Two years ago an ex of Tosi had already recorded the record in the national test – remembers Lorenzo -. This school allowed me to study and satisfy my curiosity. I met professors who encouraged me to deepen. I am interested in everything from science to humanities. I have never found it difficult to study because it is a way to discover new and different things ».
The idea of becoming a doctor came to him between the third and fourth high school: «I like challenges and certainly the university course of Medicine is demanding. Six years of course then specialized training: it is not a simple choice. Also, a profession that allows you to help others is suitable for my selfless character. I never back down when it comes to helping someone. This job will allow me to always and really be at the side of those in need ».
Lorenzo Monti is a recent graduate, he finished his schooling last June at the Tosi with full marks: «Once I passed the maturity, I started studying for the medical test. Then I took a vacation between the sea and the mountains and, when I returned in August, I started “training” with quizzes. A couple of hours every day to prepare for this exam mode. The week before the test, I closed my books and quizzes and relaxed: you need to clear your mind before taking an exam, otherwise anxiety can be a problem ».
Of the day of the medicine test he remembers above all the wait: «We were seated from 11 to 13 waiting for the start. In a counter that is also a bit uncomfortable, in a climate that is not exactly serene. Here, if there is one thing that has stuck with me, it is precisely the atmosphere of those hours of waiting. Once we received the test, however, everything went smoothly. I was used to it and I had already faced some questions ».
The two “scandal” questions later invalidated by the Ministry had put him a little agitated: «I was convinced that I had answered correctly but the tables with the corrections, which came out immediately after the test, indicated the error. I was not convinced by that thing and, in fact, the problem emerged ».
Now Lorenzo is preparing to start the new long journey but there is something new: «I give my primacy to those who follow me in the ranking – explains Lorenzo Monti – I, in fact, had also tried the test at the San Raffaele where I passed. I have already enrolled and will start on October 18th. The national test was my “plan B”».
A luxury plan B for a student who is certainly the protagonist of his future.
Great satisfaction at the Tosi high school in Busto Arsizio which records a new excellent performance by one of his pupils, despite the fact that the Ministry of Education has rejected the request to activate the “biomedical curvature” path. Maybe because at Tosi … that’s already okay.
