The construction sites of the University of Cesena are in constant ferment. After finishing the university residence “La Torre” which, with its 80 beds, the library and the kitchen, will be officially inaugurated in September, work continues to give a complete structure to the most innovative university town in Italy.

Work will begin in July on the gymnasium which will be located on the ground floor of the Campus in an area previously used as a warehouse of 420 square meters. The works will last 140 days and will be completed by 2021. The amount of the works is 660 thousand euros for a total economic framework of 854 thousand euros. The spaces will be organized as follows: equipment room that can accommodate 39 people, training room with 21 people, dining room for 12 people, office that includes front and back office, changing rooms for 25 people and storage. The equipment, all from Technogym, will be purchased by Cusb (Bologna University Student Center).

In addition to the gym, work is also being done on the new settlement in via Rasi and Spinelli. In the Municipality building, spaces will be rationalized to create a single seat dedicated to clinical psychology services, not far from the new department that is also located in the area of the Ex Sugar factory. The works are expected to finish in March 2022. More work
important and demanding, however, remains that of the new headquarters of the Psychology department, which will rise next to the student residence. There will be 10 classrooms for a total of 1700 study places, study spaces for over 70 places, 5 laboratories, one of which for 60 places, 48 teaching study places, for a total gross area of over 10 thousand square meters including the garage and technical rooms. . The call for tenders will be made by December 2021, the end of the works has been set for 2025.
Last, but not least, is the “ReMade” project the digital grove. On the side of the Campus that goes towards the railway, with the ground excavated to make the foundations of the new buildings, a hill was built and trees will be planted on this hill and a green area will be set up whose environmental benefits will be visible through a dedicated web page. . The area will be at the service of the university community and all citizens, will be equipped with an amphitheater for educational and educational events that can be organized by the students themselves. Finally, work is already underway on the cycle path that will connect the railway station with the Campus, to facilitate sustainable travel and to connect the station to the study areas more quickly.
