It looks like a book with a leather cover but it isn’t. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold is the first foldable laptop to arrive on the Italian market. Not a tablet nor a super-smartphone, it is a full-fledged computer, indeed to be essential it is a flexible OLED display. You can use it as a single 13.3 ”screen or as two side-by-side 9.6” screens.
We tried it for a week, it’s fun because you can carry it around like a tablet or keep it folded like a Surface and connect a bluetooth keyboard to it. You can fold it in half and use it as a clamshell laptop. You can fold it slightly and hold it like a hardcover book. The uses are spectacular, the laptop features make it one of a kind for now. Like all pioneers, indeed like all avant-gardes they are elitist by default. The one I tested with 256 Gb costs 3,419 euros. The battery does not last very long and the software, however optimized, remains optimizable. Good the first then. But we wait for the upgrade.
