The first iPhone with a USB-c port, born from the modification of an engineering student

by admin

A robotics engineering student, who goes by the name of Kenny Pi on YouTube, has modified an iPhone X and turned it into the first Apple smartphone with a USB-C port for charging.

In this short video, which summarizes his work that lasted a few months, the boy shows an iPhone X that seems to be able to recharge and transfer files to other devices through a USB-c port. We remember that Apple’s favorite connector is the Lightning one. Recently, the European Commission proposed to standardize the connectors of mobile devices, in particular smartphones, standardizing them to the USB-c format. A move that aims to reduce electronic waste and facilitate the lives of consumers, struggling with multiple standards.
