In Piacenza, the military of the Nas of Parma subjected to criminal seizure a study of aesthetic medicine that was not authorized to operate. Eight vials of medicinal products for human use found without marketing authorization were also found and seized.
The recent chronicles of cosmetic surgery operations carried out by unqualified personnel who, for profit only, carry out practices reserved exclusively for doctors, underestimating the serious consequences that can derive from services performed in the absence of adequate professional preparation, with equipment not suitable and in premises lacking the minimum health and structural requirements, led the Carabinieri del Nas, in agreement with the Ministry of Health, to conduct a control campaign, throughout the national territory, aimed at verifying the correct provision of the services of aesthetic medicine. The checks were aimed at verifying the technical suitability of the equipment used, the existence of the hygienic-structural and organizational requirements, the possession of the required authorizations, the presence of professional qualifications, with particular regard to the application of fillers, skin implants and other procedures including treatments using the growth factor PRP (platelet-rich plasma) for the biorevitalization of the skin, all practices which by their nature are the most likely to be performed abusively.
In the provinces of Parma, Piacenza, Modena and Reggio Emilia, the Carabinieri of the Nas of Parma checked a total of 41 structures, detecting irregularities in 6 of these. In the context, there were high administrative penalties for a total amount of € 4,580.
