The new gymnasium of the Jean Monnet Institute has been inaugurated

The works, started last February, carried out by Tipiesse srl of Villa D’Adda, a company that had won the contract for an amount of 500 thousand euros. The intervention was financed with the contribution of the Ministry of Education in the context of the interventions of adaptation and functional adaptation of the spaces and classrooms as a consequence of the health emergency from Covid 19.

“The project was born from the need to have a second gym that can be used all year round – explain from the Province of Como – This school, with a population of about 1800 students, had for some time been offering a congested didactic activity of physical education in the only gym in operation, also used simultaneously by four classes. A completely unacceptable situation given the need to guarantee the social distancing prescribed by the anti-Covid protocols. “

Volleyball, basketball and badminton in the new facility

The new rigid roof, thermally well insulated, able to ensure a comfortable use both in winter and in summer, will allow to have a usable indoor surface of 710 m², dimensions that will allow you to finally practice basketball, volleyball and badminton in any season. A new space awaited by the numerous students of the institute, as highlighted by the head teacher Leonarda Spanish, but also by all the citizens of Mariano. The mayor Giovanni Alberti in fact he underlined how this gym will be added to the others already affiliated with local associations, always looking for new spaces.
