“A new social pact between agriculture, territory and community”: this is how Giuseppe Facchin, president of CIA Agricoltori Italiani Treviso defines, the launch of the new campaign in favor of LILT Treviso ODV which sees CIA Treviso and the Turismo Verde Treviso farmhouses active in promoting healthy nutrition and enhancement of the agricultural productions of the territory. The project, presented on Wednesday 6 October at the Althea farmhouse in Vittorio Veneto during an evening reserved for the authorities and the press, thanks to the special collaboration with chef Stefano Polato, a chef specialized in the choice, preparation and conservation of foods that in recent years has prepared food for various space missions such as that of Samantha Cristoforetti, will bring to the menus of the farmhouses in the province of Treviso, participating in the project, a dish designed and created according to the principles of the single dish that balances ingredients and production techniques to obtain a recipe that combines health and taste.
“Two important local associations for this project that aims to combine the excellence of the territory and bring to the LILT association a small sum for each dish to give concrete support to research and development of prevention and health protection activities. – declares Giuseppe Facchin, president of CIA Agricoltori Italiani Treviso – CIA Treviso has long been looking for this pact with society and all citizens, who do not deal with agriculture, and this is an opportunity that we could not miss because we have the excellence , the strengths and capabilities are there, we just had to put them into a system. The single dish symbol of the campaign is created by chef Stefano Polato, in sharing with the agri-chefs of Turismo Verde CIA Treviso, and is based on the basic scheme of the single dish elaborated by Harvard University (“The Healthy Eating Plate” – The Nutrition Source, Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health). The chicken thigh stuffed with Treviso red radicchio and walnuts, with spiced pumpkin cream and potatoes with onion and chives presented on the launch evening will then include seasonal variations, relative to the vegetable part, which will also see white asparagus as protagonists, spring herbs and garden vegetables such as aubergines, courgettes and peppers.
“Harvard University gives us a basic scheme on which to think and build our recipes that brings together the latest evidence in the medical scientific field to obtain more balanced dishes. A model to which we must refer to compose our meal and which guarantees the right balance between macro and micro nutrients – explains chef Stefano Polato – The strength of this project, built with CIA Treviso, lies precisely in the possibility of choosing products of the highest quality. ‘home-made’ that the countryside and this wonderful territory offer us. We must pay more and more attention to the processing and cooking systems on which we must continue to work, avoiding producing harmful substances caused by inadequate cooking systems. “

Health and prevention that also passes through sport, an area in which CIA Treviso has been active for three years with the participation in Prosecco Cycling with a team of CIA Treviso cyclists on the saddle for the promotion of the territory, the sustainability of production and the enhancement of excellence of the territory. “Prosecco Cycling is an event to experience the territory and promote health and sport.
