the New Volleyball symbol of the city. “In the gym with the enthusiasm of the first day”

37 years of activity. Three generations of budding volleyball players who grew up with dunks, risers and walls. A love for sport that goes beyond passion and becomes a symbiosis with life itself. The Nuova Vollavolo Campobasso has been a point of reference for almost four decades essential for those who want to practice sports in the capital, in the wake of that tradition inaugurated in September of 1984 and still alive thanks to the historical founders and owners.

We speak of course of Lucia de Soccio and Raffaele di Cesare, two pillars of Molise volleyball – as well as a wife and husband – capable of bringing girls and boys closer to the gym, to the nets, to that hard white ball that over time has become one of the best ‘friends’ for many. And the daughters Paola and Antonella could only inherit this passion. To be precise, as explained by Nuova Volleyball, that September evening 37 years ago “Lucia de Soccio, Raffaele di Cesare, Enzo de Soccio and another small circle of fans, founded the Nuova Volleyball Campobasso”.

And here is the first recognizable and by now unmistakable sign: “Enzo between a chat and the other drew down the sketch of a playful and faithful little dog, which he crushed with one ear“. In recent years the image has changed, “it has evolved with us, from a precious hand-made drawing to a restyling elaborated and coordinated by Dalila Palazzo, worthy of a moment of a moment of rebirth and restart”.

And so, from a stylized dog scoring under the net, here is the brand new logo with a smiling dog, always after a dunk: “Our mascot has been kept in the message but rejuvenated in style, he likes it always crush with the ears showing off a nice smile, the same smile that appears on the faces of our members yesterday when they remember the past challenges with the little dog sewn on their hearts and today when they feel the thrill of seeing the ball crushed over the net for the first time “.

Let’s say that the New Volleyball has always been in step with the times, but managing to ‘dictate’ rules, lifestyles, even fashions. “Since that evening – they explain from the club – many things have changed. We have changed locations, we have seen theevolution of the fields, of the balls, rules, methodologies, we have gone through fashions, not always unscathed”.

Here, the fashions and volleyball clothing: “We have passed from loose wool sweaters to 90s Cuban national style leotards, from strictly white shoes (and the one who wore them colored had courage to spare) to the shoes that are more colorful the more “they make a player”, from the videotapes to study the opponent that were sent from one team to another (we also happened to receive “the package”), to direct Facebook … and (it seems) we also survived a pandemic “.

Blue-white, another distinctive sign. “Luckily many other things have not changed, every day Lucia and Raffaele, together with their colleagues who, albeit over the years, have all worn the white-blue shirt for a long time, a sign of stability, seriousness and trust, they are in the gym with the enthusiasm of the first day. How they do it is not known … sooner or later they will reveal their secret to us. Perhaps…”. fds
