The Royal Museums of Turin and augmented reality: the Mrt Virtual app for visitors

It’s called Mrt Virtual and it’s the new app designed to offer visitors to the Royal Museums of Turin new contents and experiences within the exhibition itinerary.

L’app (this is the Android version) was born in collaboration with the consultation for the enhancement of artistic and cultural heritage of the Piedmontese capital afterwards the restoration of the altar of the chapel of the Shroud and is based on augmented reality. At the moment the contents concern the altar, the chapel and the Grove of the Royal Gardens, but “it will soon be enriched with new topics and functions”.

Developed by Ribes Solutions and VisivaLab, the app is downloadable from the Play Store or the App Store or even through a QR Code positioned near the entrance to the sacred area of ​​the museums. After installing it, just point the smartphone camera at the one you want to have information about see text content, videos, photos on the screen and animations.
