Lorenzo Simeone, esteemed family doctor, very well known in Conegliano, where he had worked from the sixties until his retirement, arrived in the nineties, passed away at the age of 90.

He was originally from Bari and, after graduating in Medicine in Siena, he moved to Conegliano, where at the time there was a strong demand for general practitioners and because the city was geographically equidistant from the place of residence of his parents and of the in-laws, who lived in Germany, as told by their son Giovanni.

In addition to his passion for his work, he had also dedicated himself to wood carving, especially that of olive trees, with which he had created images of animals, faces of people and even abstract representations, following what was the trend of the piece of wood chosen.

With the sculpture he had won national prizes and his works had been at the center of about fifteen exhibitions, set up between Conegliano and Portogruaro. – the son recalled – In addition, he had also created catalogs ”.

“He traveled a lot and made great trips with his wife. – continued Giovanni Simeone – We will remember about him the fact that he was very communicative and that he always joked. Patients remember him a lot for this: the smile was the first medicine for him ”.

Lorenzo Simeone leaves his wife Johanna, his children Sophia with Michele and Giovanni with Alberta, his nephews Marta, Luca, Teresa and Lorenzo, his sister Grazia, his brother Martino, his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, grandchildren and all relatives.

The funeral will be held on Monday 14 June at 3.30 pm in the parish church of Madonna delle Grazie in Conegliano, while the rosary will be recited on Sunday 13 June in the same church at 6 pm. The body will be buried in the cemetery of San Giuseppe in Conegliano.
