According to the parameters of the UN Department of Food and Agriculture, there are 17 essential nutrients for health including fiber, protein, potassium, calcium, iron, zinc, and various vitamins. The nutritional density of a food is calculated taking into account the availability and assimilation of each nutrient by the body.

The top 10 foods with the highest nutritional density, making them the healthiest choices, include watercress with a nutritional density of 100%, Chinese cabbage with 91.99%, chard with 89.27%, beet leaves with 87.08%, and spinach with 86.43%. Other vegetables such as chicory, lettuce leaves, parsley, romaine lettuce, and green cabbage also made the list.

Among the top 10, the top 5 healthiest foods in the world include watercress, Chinese cabbage, chard, beet leaves, and spinach. These vegetables are packed with essential nutrients and offer numerous health benefits.
