The Darpa (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency), a government agency that responds to the US Department of Defense and which has been developing new technologies for military use since 1958, has shown a new ‘weapon’ created to disable enemy drones. It is an interceptor that takes to the skies and ‘shoots’ streamers to neutralize the unauthorized drone. The filaments hit the drone and compromise its flight, blocking the propellers and causing them to fall. The response to a threat without the use of explosives is desired and indeed sought, to allow adequate defense to the moving convoys passing through civilian centers.
