The vaccine rush: only ten days to comply with the green pass

by admin

The undecided of the vaccine return to appear in the hubs where in different Regions you can present yourself directly without an appointment. Others are booking for the next few days. Because after the launch of the green pass obligation for all workplaces from next October 15th, there is little time to comply. At least for those who decide to get the pass through the vaccine: the green certificate is in fact valid 15 days after the first dose, this means that those who want to be “ready” with the pass in their pocket from mid-October have time until the next 30 September.

Vaccinations restart

The first signs of the restart of the injections were felt immediately after the launch of the decree in the council of ministers which introduced the obligation to green pass in all workplaces – public and private -. The commissioner Paolo Figliuolo spoke of a 35% increase in vaccinations and a growth in bookings from 20% to 40%. The first data that are stabilizing speak of over 75 thousand first doses – those that count to increase the audience of the immunized – this Saturday 18 September against the 63 thousand of last Saturday 11 September. Regions such as Lombardy, Emilia Romagna and Piedmont recorded a doubling of bookings in a single day. Of course it is only a first outbreak, so much so that Figliuiolo himself said cautiously that now “it is necessary to monitor, in the coming days, the trend of accessions to assess whether the current trend will consolidate in a structural way”.

Tight time to make the first dose

The decree with the obligation of green pass will be published in the Official Gazette this Monday to enter into force the next day. The measure triggers the obligation for all public and private workers, including the self-employed, to have a green pass in their pocket from 15 October to enter any workplace. So not only to access the offices or factories where work in the presence is returning more and more in a massive way but also to enter the private homes of citizens: this is the case, for example, of the maid or the caregiver, but also of the plumber or of the electrician who has to make a repair. Today, according to official government estimates, they are there 4.1 million workers without green pass. And for those who choose to obtain it through vaccination, they must take into account that the green certificate becomes valid 15 days after the first injection. So on balance for those who want to be found immediately and that is from mid-October there are still 10 days available for the first injection. That’s why, for example, from the Lazio councilor Alessio D’Amato the explicit invitation to workers has arrived “not to be reduced at the last moment” to avoid queues and chaos.

The expensive tampon alternative

In addition to vaccination (and recovery from Covid) to obtain the green pass there is a last possibility: that of resorting to the tampon. With a warning and that is that in this case the green certificate is valid only 48 ore, at least if it is obtained with the rapid antigen test that is done for example in a pharmacy and whose response arrives in 10 minutes. The molecular one – which takes 24 hours to be processed in the laboratory – will also be valid for 72 ore as foreseen by an amendment to the green pass bis decree approved in Parliament which will come into force shortly. Despite the League’s pressing, it will not be possible for workers to swab for free, only very fragile patients for whom vaccination is not recommended will be able to do so. Therefore, those who do not want to vaccinate and aim to save will have to choose the rapid antigen swabs at the pharmacy that have a price that has been controlled by the government until the end of December. Prices were set at 15 euro for adults e 8 euro for the under 18. But in the hypothesis of always working in the presence the worker risks having to pay out of his own pocket up to 60 euros per week for three tests, in practice almost 250 euros per month.
