The virtual tour of the Catania High School is here: discover Villa San Saverio

Discover the residence of the students of the High School of Catania by “browsing” from the comfort of home, thanks to an immersive tool developed by prof. Giovanni Maria Farinella of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and by Dr. Francesca Del Zoppo. With the use of 360 ° cameras, they created a 3D reproduction of Villa San Saverio, the structure – in via Valdisavoia – which houses the students of the School of Excellence of the University of Catania chaired by Prof. Maria Rosaria Maugeri .

A team made up of Dr. Maria Guglielmino and Germana Ragusa and Dr. Angelo Russo, under the supervision of the administrative coordinator Elvira Cardillo, of the Scuola Superiore di Catania.

Thanks to the virtual tour it will be possible to explore both the external areas and some of the most significant internal areas of the residence.
The tour was also enriched with photographic and video material from the archives of the “School” in order to make the visit as complete and realistic as possible.

We were very keen to create a virtual tour that would allow everyone to get close to our school and visit its places. The School is a lived-in place, a place of encounter and continuous comparison and I hope that all this can be perceived also with the virtual visit we have imagined ».
