United by life because they are twin brothers, also united by the scholastic goals achieved. Ivan and Emmanuele Capobianco, 25 years old from Ravanusa, both graduated with honors from the medical faculty in what was, in effect, a double celebration for their family.
The two had already graduated together from the “Saetta e Livatino” high school in their city. Now this new result at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. Obviously, the theses were different: Ivan presented one in Gastroenterology, (the topic “Role of OCTN1 in the pathogenesis of Ulcerative Colitis and its potential use as a predictive marker of response to treatment”) and Emmanuele instead in Endocrinology (the topic was “Low T3 syndrome in chronic diseases: role of irisin in the modulation of antioxidant systems”).
